Abstract
Topic Initiated: Spring Collaborative 2019
Addiction is a chronic brain disease and relapsing into substance use is quite common. Often, such a relapse is seen by the patient as failing at recovery. Thomas Edison once said, “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” So, what if people who relapse during their recovery view the experience as a learning opportunity rather than a failure?
